Day 13: Notre Dame, Paris

The beauty of Paris’ French gothic Notre Dame is immediately evident. Its grand spires reach toward the sky and the façade is too intricate to take in with a mere glance. After walking down the nave and getting a good view of the altar and all the beautiful gothic chandeliers and stained glass windows, we head out towards the garden. There is a man and some children holding out little pieces of bread as birds come and peck right out of their hands. Chrysanthemums, daisies, poppies, and bright yellow football mums line the outside of Our Lady. It’s a beautiful sight to behold and reminds you why Paris is often referred to as “The City of Love.”

Chestnut & White

If you've followed my blog for long, you'll know that I'm a sucker for lace. Which is why I fell in love with this lace applique dress. I paired it up with a brown braided belt and some brown strappy heels from ALDO to complete the look.

Lapis Lazuli

The beautiful ultramarine color of Lapis Lazuli has been used in artwork throughout the ages and has been the inspiration point for many painters. A combination of it's extremely rich and vibrant color as well as the rarity of the precious stone from which it is extracted from only add to the admiration and beauty of the amazing artworks it has adorned. I love this dress because it almost captures the vibrant cobalt blue tone of Lapis Lazuli.

Rain or Shine...

I don't know what it is about yellow trench coats and matching yellow boots which provoke the child in me that has the urge to stomp around in puddles and dance in the rain... Seeing as we have yet to have a spring shower this week, I have yet to need an excuse to put these yellow boots and trench coat to use!

Hope you all had a lovely friday!! ;-)

Blue Jeans

Inspiration for this photo comes from Lana Del Rey's "Blue Jeans" (directed by Yoanne Lemoine). Below it are some pictures I took at the beach. I loved the salty breeze and each wave formation as they crashed against the glistening rocks.
