Forests & Sands

Ocean mist, sparkling sands, salty breeze, the breaking of waves, the ocean's tide, the pull of the current, pebbles, stones, and seaweed--this is one of my greatest love affairs of all; the sea.

London Calling

Dimly-lit cafes, cobblestone alley ways, dark-aged cathedral architecture, velvet-enveloped vintage furniture, checkered patterns and ornate floral prints, eerie hotels, and all-things-British--all are inspirations for these next photos.

Deer, Oh Dear!

I am currently determined to find myself a pet deer. They are such beautiful, majestic, and sweet creatures. Audrey Hepburn had one that followed her everywhere, even in the grocery store, which she affectionatley named "Pippin."

Apparently they are attractive men magnets as well ;)

The Butterfly Circus

I recently came across a beautiful short film about redemption, hope, and ultimatley transformation. "The Butterfly Circus" revolves around the metaphor of how a butterfly must strenuosly break free of it's cacoon in order to transform into the beautiful creature that it was created to be. Similarly, the inevitable struggles of life are neccesary in order for each of us to undergo transformation, build character, and become the person that we are each created to be. Featuring Eduardo Verástegui (Bella), Doug Jones (Pan’s Labyrinth, Fantastic Four), and Motivational Speaker and Author of Life Without Limits, Nick Vujicic, "The Butterfly Circus" is about Rebirth, Second Chances, New Life, and the "Beauty that can come from Ashes."

French Navy

I absolutley love all things nautically inspired. I remember when I got my first French Vogue magazine the pages of Military/Sailor inspired looks touched me in the deep core of my nautical-hungry soul. I don't know what it is about the blues, reds, whites, canvas materials, oxford shoes, and loafers that make me feel so good and close to the sea which I love. Here's a photo of my favorite sailor hat which I decided to follow with some photos of inspiration. I love the vintage, sailor feel each one emits.

I find it interesting that the famous "french stripes" were originally worn by sailors who were considered of "low rank." Who knew the trend would grace the future pages of Vogue magazines everywhere...

Another source of inspiration stems from one of my all time favorite songs from my all time favorite bands, I present to you for your listening pleasure, "French Navy" by Camera Obscura.

Forest, Flowers, and Fabrics

Although I couldn't manage to take any photos of my own outfits, I do recall coming across a video a while back that compliments my previous post. The outfits are a compilation of romantic dresses, feminine fits, as well as a bit of rusticity. In addition to the aesthetic enjoyment of the scenery, fabrics, and models comes along "Blow the Cover," by Corinne Callen which I think you will find audibly pleasing as well. Enjoy!

Palm Springs/ San Bernadino Mountains

I recently got the pleasure of spending three lovely days in the beautiful palm springs. Relaxing by the pool side as well as enjoying the eclectic shops, restraunts, and atmosphere was a nice get away. We took a trip off the highly traveled road to explore the mountain tops where we got a break from the city's hustle and the 112 degree temperature. Although I couldn't manage to take any blog-worthy pictures of my outfits, I did however manage to snap a few shots of the breath-taking scenery. I have to say, I do very much enjoy the rustic vibe which these photos emit.

And everything's better with music, so for this post there's no better than "The Suburbs" by Arcade Fire.

Beach Town

There's nothing like exploring the enclaves and side streets of quaint beach towns, which is precisley what I got to do this weekend. I wasn't expecting to take pictures, but I happened to have my camera with me and Voila! I took some pictures of the scenery and thought I might share them to whoever pleases to see. And to set the mood for a beach town photo sesh, who better to do it than the lovely band Little Joy...

Et Les Photos...

And a picture my sister took of me.

Hope you all had a lovely weekend as well! :)

Golden Slumbers

Inspiration for these photos comes from photographers I like such as Larry Keenan, who capture the free spirited time of the 70's; along with the pure beauty of nature--the expanse of a field, the hum of crickets and the chirping of birds, and golden sun beams stretching as far as the eye can see. Anything gypsy-like: Feathers, black lace, floral prints, and flowers. And of course, The Beatles.
